Medical Readiness Facility Takes Shape
KPH crews have been stationed at Madison's Truax Field, working on constructing the new state-of-the-art Medical Readiness Facility. This ground-up, two-story facility will allow for the Medical Group at the 115th Fighter Wing to operate out of a central location on base and carry out its mission to provide immediate incident response to natural and man-made disasters from under one roof.

As lead general contractor, KPH is building a new 18,650 square foot facility to house Reserve Forces Medical Training and Administrative offices, as well as a 3,400 square foot medical
support storage garage.

The building structure is largely made up of structural precast panels and structural steel which resulted in a major visual impact on site in a short amount of time earlier this summer. Over the course of three days, with the help of 41 trucks, all 50 precast panels were safely erected and set in place. Additional work on the project includes site utilities, site grading and landscaping, all new electrical/HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection systems, new technology and security systems, steel stud and drywall, painting, acoustical ceilings, standing seam metal roof, EPDM roofing systems, exterior metal wall panel assembly, terrazzo flooring with custom insignia, millwork, countertops, new elevator, and aluminum framed windows and entrances.

The project is being constructed using USGBC green building standards that are established as part of the National Guard Bureau’s requirements for major military projects. This project is set to wrap up Spring of 2024.
