The Department of the Army National Guard Readiness Center has awarded a contract to KPH Construction to build an Indoor Small Arms Range. The new facility will be constructed at the 128th Air Refueling Wing located at Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee.
The nearly $6 million award resulted from a competitive Invitation for Bid process and involves the design and construction of a new indoor firearms training facility to support the Air National Guard's operational readiness and training requirements.
The project entails constructing a new ten-lane indoor small arms range with all associated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements for a fully functional Air National Guard ETL compliant weapons qualification facility. The project also includes demolishing and removing the existing outdoor gun range, associated civil improvements, contaminated soils handling, a fully automated range control system, ballistic protections, and acoustical protections.
“This facility is crucial for providing a compliant weapons qualification environment for the Air National Guard, said Keith Harenda. “KPH is proud to continuing our work in support of the 128th Air Refueling Wing.”
