Since construction began in July 2025, KPH has been redefining what affordable housing can look like through an innovative initiative to build high-quality, thoughtfully designed homes for early childhood educators. As part of a 40-home development centered around five early childhood education hubs, the program reflects a deep commitment to not only affordability, but also dignity, stability, and long-term community impact.
These three-bedroom homes, with an estimated market value of $315,000, will be offered at approximately $105,000 to qualified educators. The effort includes homes developed through Growth-KPH, LLC., the joint venture formed between KPH Construction Corp., led by Keith P. Harenda, and Envision Growth LLC., led by Oby Nwabuzor, DrPH, MBA. In this partnership, Envision Growth serves as lead emerging developer, while KPH Construction serves as general contractor and played a critical role in helping finance construction and close gaps in the project’s capital stack.

Growth-KPH, LLC. has developed six of the homes and what distinguishes them is its uncompromising approach to quality. Each home, built on vacant city-owned land, is designed for real life, featuring energy-efficient systems, durable construction, vaulted ceilings, spacious kitchens, and full basements with future expansion potential. Growth-KPH incorporated thoughtful details—like inviting front porches and modern finishes—to ensure these homes exceed expectations for affordable housing and create a sense of pride for homeowners.
“At KPH, we believe affordable housing shouldn’t mean settling for less,” said Keith P. Harenda, President of KPH Construction Corp. “We partnered with Oby and Envision Growth to build homes that we would be proud to live in ourselves—homes that offer quality, stability, and a foundation for the future. Supporting early childhood educators in this way is an investment not just in individuals, but in the strength of our entire community.”
The homes are available now for purchase and interested educators can learn more about qualifications and apply at www.housingplan.org/ece. At its core, the program represents a powerful model for how public, private, and philanthropic partnerships can come together to create meaningful change. By pairing attainable pricing with high design standards and strong development leadership, KPH is helping ensure that early childhood educators have the opportunity not just to purchase a home, but to build lasting roots in the communities they serve.
